Mom’s Roses

Rose of all Roses, Rose of all the World!
You, too, have come where the dim tides are hurled
Upon the wharves of sorrow, and heard ring
The bell that calls us on; the sweet far thing.

Quotes William Butler Yeats

One of the many roses in my childhoods yard…..can remember when there were no flowers other then the blooming wild grapes and the apricots of the field beside the house …years of gathering plants and memories from other family members yards…..

The smell of the white rose in moms yard is sweet and mild to the senses….as one walks up the drive way the roses lives at the edge of the house…near the water that falls off the edge of the roof…it blooms many times during the spring and summer….soft and sweet to the heart and eyes of all that see it…

One but has to travel up the driveway of mom’s to see the history of flower gardens of others in the family ….that is what flower gardens are about ..Aunt Louise’s buttercups, grandmas grape bells, roses from Memaws ,peach trees from uncle Jimmy’s…..surprise lilies from Aunt Bee’s

Welcome to the Seay’s…..we were a mixed group of a family …His...Hers..Theirs….

Home of the many little Indians of the Seay Tribe…..with a few Snow Flakes thrown in to make the binding of love complete

P.S.note from my daughter ……
Don’t forget Mom…. the red rose in the back was purchased by grand daddy from a grocery store for .19 cents. It was dead except for one or two limbs….. granny planted it out back at the corner of the house. The next year granny said they were surprised that it survived. It was granny’s gift because they could not afford flowers or candy during that time for valentines day or their birthdays which all fell at the same time.…..soon I will write a story about these roses as well…another way flowers appeared in the yard of my childhood…
